Assistants to persons using wheelchairs receive free admission. What could future museums look like if they are turned into inclusive spaces that compensate for their colonialist past? In ‘Decolonizing Museums – the Museum as a Crime Scene in 2033’, Rotem explores a future scenario in which a museum has undergone a process of decolonization.

The key activity in this phase is to look for signals of change. What we call Horizon scanning.

Govan does not expect any conflicts of interest to arise, and points out that many arts leaders occupy multiple board seats across the city and the country. Wynn, who is a LACMA board co-chair, has already given LACMA $50 million — one of the largest single gifts in LACMA’s history — Govan notes, adding that he doesn’t know how much more the L.A. Scaling is about bringing the future to life by entering an imaginative space where cognition meets the physical world in a creative and speculative manner.

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art is at a critical juncture in its efforts to push its Peter Zumthor-designed building project closer to the finish line. A collection of films, television series, and video media pertaining to arts and culture, all collected by our team. The A+D Museum explores the definitions of architecture and design, from the conceptual to professional practice. We embrace the themes of technology, art, scale, and urbanism.

Things you need a ticket for

Designmuseum Danmark offers displays of decorative art, crafts, and industrial designs from the Western world and Asia from the late Middle Ages and up to the present. Earlier, the museum was the first public hospital in Denmark, The Royal Frederik's Hospital, where Søren Kierkegaard was admitted and died in 1855. Designmuseum Danmark is housed on the premises of what was once the Royal Frederik’s Hospital, built in 1751 as Denmark’s first public hospital. It has also been home to the design studio and furniture school of Kaare Klint, one of the originators of modern Danish design. We take good care of the building, and are glad our guests can enjoy this listed building where so much Danish design history has been created.

This is where we bring the future to life.

In their project ‘Remote Futures’, Lunia and Elena explore how we will work in 2030, if the trend of working remotely will become more and more common. In order to make future scenarios about work culture more tangible and imaginable, they have created four narratives in which personas from 2030 give an account of their work life. The narratives are visually accompanied by speculative artefacts of the future, that connect to the personas’ life and show us how anything from furniture to technology will develop according to our changing work-life needs. With ‘Nature Room’ ShuYi and Yuna explore how the healing factor of nature can contribute positively to well-being and mental health in situations, where we are isolated for longer periods of time, for instance during future lockdowns. With the proposal that artificial nature can be utilized as a therapeutic source, they have designed various digital versions of nature scenarios that can be brought into domestic spaces. They have imagined and designed a prototype for a 4D-projector that is able to project visuals, sounds and even smells from nature.

Meet the players behind forward-thinking ideas worth knowing. And network with like-minded people with a passion for design. They inspired their contemporaries and set their footprint on the future of not only Danish design, but design all over the world. Exhibition under constructionWe are currently building a new exhibition on Danish design, which will include our popular ‘chair tunnel’. Due to the construction, a small part of the museum is therefore inaccessible until June 14th.

A must for fans of the applied arts and industrial design, its fairly extensive collection includes Danish textiles and fashion, as well as the iconic design pieces of modern innovators like Kaare Klint, Poul Henningsen and Arne Jacobsen. Las Vegas, with a metro area population of nearly 3 million, is one of the largest cities in the country without an art museum. Which explains a recent announcement that LACMA is partnering with the upcoming Las Vegas Museum of Art to share both expertise and, eventually, its collection.

Powerful Patterns

The scale phase invites us to use our insights from the previous phases as a foundation to imagine, share and design new scenarios for the future. This is the time to design actions, speculative products or services, conversations and experiences that engage others in exploring a possible, alternative reality. It provides a comprehensive view of all the festival events, including a complete list of exhibitions along with their locations on our interactive 3daysofdesign map. Plus, we're excited to introduce a new QR ticket system this year for easy access to everything the festival has to offer.

Review: Ed Ruscha show wowed in New York. Why it’s even better in L.A.

A+D guides our community through the complex effects design has on our lives and the world around us. Futures Design is not a crystal ball or a recipe to predict the future. Rent a bike, jump on the bus or metro, catch a boat or simply walk from venue to venue. At the same time, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the architecture, restaurants, cafes, shops and Copenhagen's relaxed vibe by day and vibrant night life. The entrance to the exhibitions closes 30 minutes before the museum closes.

From the famous chairs from the Golden Age of Danish design to the modern solutions of today, where designers bring important issues like sustainability and environmental issues into their designs. In an interview with The Times, Govan emphasized that continual expansion along Wilshire Boulevard would yield diminishing returns. LACMA is instead developing a “strategic plan of regional partnerships” with museums — large and small — in order to pull more of its collection out of storage, and make it accessible to as many people as possible. As the sun starts to heat up the city, it is time to get out and explore the architecture. The city’s many parks invite children’s play, long walks, and enjoyment in the year’s first rays of sunshine. You can look forward to seeing cutting-edge concepts from new and established names in lifestyle, design, furniture and interior design.

Heather Harmon, executive director of Las Vegas Museum of Art, says the museum is tentatively slated to open in 2028 and has established a campaign fundraising goal of $150 million, as well as plans for an endowment. LACMA’s collection will be loaned to a new Las Vegas art museum. The deal isn’t a jackpot for L.A., which has long been promised its own satellites. Start your exploration of Copenhagen’s architecture on the floor just beneath BLOX. Here, you can walk around on a gigantic aerial photo of the city and get a complete overview. At the same time, it gives you the feeling of being a giant, stomping around – high above the city.

For Govan, the collaboration with Las Vegas Museum of Art is the natural next step in his 21st century-museum paradigm shift. In addition, Govan says plans to open a museum in South Los Angeles, which stalled out during the pandemic, are slowly getting back on track. He also mentions LACMA’s collection-sharing efforts with Los Angeles Unified School District’s Charles White Elementary School and its exhibitions at the Los Angeles County Fair. Both institutions will decide what exhibitions will travel to Las Vegas in a process expected to unfold organically as the collaboration develops, Govan and Harmon say. Because the museums are relatively close in proximity, Govan hopes the shows can travel in electric vehicles to reduce the carbon footprint of the exchange.

We have many visitors, and we want to create a good experience where there is room for all our guests. Therefore, all groups of more than 20 people must reserve their visit in advance. Currently, designers around the world are working on solving some of our global challenges. Thinking radically and creatively, allowing themselves to be guided by both reason and emotion. Due to construction work, there will be limited parking availability from late February to April 2024. We will strive to reserve spaces for parking with handicap signs, but access will be severely limited during this period.

Glimpses of what the future could look like are already here in the form of emergent signals of change in the environments around us. These signals could be new technologies, behavioral changes, emerging cultures and sociopolitical forces, shaping our world today. It’s a methodology designed to empower people to design with and for the future.

Design then and nowThe museum offers a unique opportunity to step back in the history of style across national borders. The historical collections of European and Asian art and decorative art includes major works in Chinese ceramics, 1700s French and German porcelain as well as English and French furniture. Here you can immerse in the narrative setups or just let yourself be impressed by the beautiful details in craftsmanship. The 18th-century Frederiks Hospital is now the outstanding Denmark Design Museum.
