The museum space and exhibitions have been reimagining, alongside, traditional museum media, such as maps, posters, catalogues and brochures. Making sense of the collection of signals from the search phase is the foundation for designing futures that are rooted in observations and patterns of the present. The exhibition tells the story of how a thing becomes an object, in a private collection or in a museum. Welcome to an exhibition about what is happening on the design scene right now. Part of the museum is currently inaccessible due to the construction. Parking for vehicles designed for the handicapped is allowed with a special permission sign, which can be obtained from the museum’s ticket sales area. You can get around the main floor of the museum in a wheelchair, and access exhibits, the café, the shop, and the library. Unfortunately, the museum has no elevator to the first floor, where the conference facilities, assembly hall, and porcelain collection are located.

Each year since its inception, 3daysofdesign has grown in popularity exponentially. In 2023, over 250 brands exhibited at the festival, where visitors could choose from as many as 500 events to attend in various design districts across Copenhagen, such as design talks, networking events, etc. Today, the 3daysofdesign festival extends to the entire city of Copenhagen and is considered the most significant annual design festival in Scandinavia.
Step inside the newly renovated museum building, and experience the new exhibitions about design then, now and in the future. Please note that we are currently building a new exhibition on Danish design, and as a result, a small part of the museum is temporarily closed. We are currently building the exhibition DANISH MODERN, which unfolds the history of Danish design from the 1920s to the year 2000 with a focus on the creation of some of the most iconic Danish design classics.
